Event Overview:
The Brooklyn Public Library will screen Charlie Chaplin’s silent film “Circus” with a soundtrack composed by Chaplin.
The “Showdown of the Century” will be screened with live piano accompaniment by Makia Matsumura.

Films Being Screened:

  • The Circus (1928, 72 minutes) directed by Charlie Chaplin
    This film features Chaplin’s Tramp character finding refuge in a traveling circus, becoming its accidental star. The film will be played with Chaplin’s composed soundtrack.
  • The Battle of the Century (1927, 18 minutes) featuring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy
    Known for its epic pie fight, this short comedy will also include live piano accompaniment by Makia Matsumura.
  • Not suitable for children under six
