  • Event Overview:
    The Silent Clowns Film Series is New York's longest-running regular screening series dedicated to rare and often overlooked silent films, accompanied by live piano performances. This event features The Strong Man (1926), starring Harry Langdon.
  • Films to be screened:
    Harry Langdon made his film debut in 1924 and enjoyed a stellar career through 1928. The Strong Man, his second production under his own company, is one of his most acclaimed works. It also marks the first feature-length film directed by Frank Capra and showcases Langdon's signature comedic brilliance. The screening will also include a two-reel short film by Mack Sennett. The live piano accompaniment will be provided by Makia Matsumura.

  • Admission is free and open to all, but advance registration is required.
  • Registered attendees will receive priority check-in 15–30 minutes before the screening.
  • Five minutes before the program starts, any remaining seats will be released to those in the standby line.
